Getenergy for Libya

Under the patronage of NOC Libya, Getenergy will host a two day event in Tripoli on the 8th and 9th December 2009, at PTQI Centre. The meeting will bring oil and gas companies together with education and training providers, including universities, colleges, institutes, training companies, government departments, and service providers.

The overall objective of this initiative is to support the development of world class education and training services for the oil industry in Libya.

The aim is to address the skills requirements of the Libyan citizens for the developing oil and gas industry as identified by NOC Libya. The anticipated outcomes of this meeting are likely to be:

-  Effective and where possible, collaborative learning programmes and systems for all aspects of the oil industry at   every level for technicians, engineers, managers, scientists, and industry leaders.

-  Improved industry/education relationships between oil and gas companies and universities, colleges, institutes, service providers, and specialist training companies. 

-   Widening professional links between oil and gas companies and education and training suppliers 

-  National and international partnerships to design and deliver new and relevant curricula, teaching methodologies, and subject disciplines for oil companies and their suppliers.

- International standards, qualifications, and competencies for the industry and those who provide it with education, training, and learning.

- Business in the delivery of learning services of all kinds and levels (engineering, technical, management, finance, health and safety, IT, English, leadership, distance learning, simulation, coaching and mentoring) to oil and gas companies
